It's that time of year when we stop blogging and concentrate on boudoir photos during the busy Christmas season. And what a busy season it has been! However, after finishing the album for Ms C, we just HAD to share the album layout from her session, and she excitedly agreed!

This session was just to die for... the set we selected was absolutely perfect for the sensual, dimly lit boudoir photos we wanted, and her wardrobe gracefully fell into place with the setting. My favorite part of this session however, was Ms C's excitement and playfulness. Boudoir is such an empowering experience to feel like a super model for a day, and Ms C soaked it all in - we really could not ask for a better woman to work with! One of my fav things ever is when girls get creative with their boudoir outfits! I love love love this sports theme! This mommy rocked it out as a gift for her hubby, and kept his interests in mind the whole time.

There is a fine line with maternity boudoir photography. It needs to be soft and sweet, but at the same time, sensual. It's a difficult line to walk, and I was uneasy about it when we were first asked to photograph a maternity boudoir session. As I do with all kids photos, I almost turned it down and referred the client to another photographer. We specialize in boudoir, but maternity.... well... we've just never done it. And it scared me. It scared me to fail. 

The more I considered it, the more I thought of potential locations and poses that would help bring that sweet softness to the photos. Yes, Melissa and I specialize in boudoir, but more than that, we specialize in women. We took the leap into maternity boudoir, and we couldn't be more excited about the images Melissa captured for our first maternity session.... excited about challenging ourselves, excited about taking risks, and excited about growing as photographers.

Last week I showed the first set from Miss S' gorgeous boudoir photos, and I said that they absolutely took my breathe away. 

When I first moved to Texas, she was the first girl I clicked with and we became fast friend. She has watched my business grow from nothing to what it is today, and she's been my #1 cheerleader along the way. We've shared our deepest secrets, fears, and dreams over one too many margheritas and I couldn't be more thankful to have such a strong support system in her. So when she got engaged to Shawn, I wanted to do something special that they'd both love! We started planning wardrobe, makeup, and came up with a plan to fool Shawn into thinking this was a normal girls night out. We dedicated an afternoon to her session with Melissa and I... complete with margheritas of course!
